OPAN® is the bridge between senders - such as hospitals and clinics, medical practices and private individuals - and recipients, which include Spitex, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and many more. Our platform enables secure electronic communication based on a structured process and thus forms the basis for seamless patient care.

How to make a new registration

Enter your place of residence, location or desired region and select a suitable provider from the list. Filters help you to narrow down the list.

If you are unsure about the services required, the selected provider will clarify the details after registration.

Fill out the registration form with information about the order, required services and patient data.

You will receive an e-mail confirmation after submitting the form. The rest of the process is standardized. You can submit additional information and track the registration status.

Transmitting documents and messages

This function allows you to send electronic documents or information to participating organizations quickly and securely. To do this, click on "Messages & documents" at the top of the tab and select the desired organization or institution.

In the transmission form, you can enter the subject and your message and add documents if required. The transmission is encrypted and files up to 500 MB in size are supported.

This guarantees a secure exchange of confidential documents and information.

Everyday assistance
Reliable support in daily life. Provides structure and security, keeps you company and accompanies you on activities outside the home. Enables participation in social life.

Home help
Comprehensive support for a well-maintained home. Includes cleaning, laundry, shopping and meal preparation. Additional services include pet care and gardening. These services contribute to well-being and take the strain out of everyday life. Enables a comfortable living environment and promotes quality of life through professional housekeeping.

Counseling
Professional support for individuals or groups in various areas of life. Provides emotional support, advice and guidance in personal and psychological matters. Aims to help clients overcome challenges and improve their quality of life.

Support
Practical help and support in coping with everyday tasks or specific challenges. Includes direct assistance in various areas of life, tailored to individual needs. Promotes independence and well-being through targeted assistance in daily life.

Basic care
Support for ageing with dignity in a familiar environment. Includes assistance with daily personal hygiene, oral hygiene and toileting. Provides assistance with eating, getting up and going to bed. These basic care services make it possible to live a self-determined and comfortable life despite age-related limitations. Promotes well-being and quality of life in old age.

Relief for family caregivers
Professional support for regeneration and in emergency situations. Enables regular time-outs or quick help when needed. Provides reliable and qualified care for people in need of care so that relatives can switch off with peace of mind. Promotes the well-being of caregivers by relieving the burden and providing security in the home care situation.

Pro Senectute

Pro Senectute supports and promotes the quality of life of older people and offers a variety of services and programs for seniors. These include advice, education, leisure activities, support in everyday life and social services. Currently, only Pro Senectute organizations from the cantons of Aargau and St. Gallen offer services via OPAN®.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • What information is necessary for submitting an application?

    Minimum details required are the patient/client's name, date of birth, gender, insurance information, responsible doctor, and reason for application. Also provide your contact details for potential queries. The more information you provide, the less administrative clarification will be needed later.

  • What happens after submitting an application?

    You'll receive a confirmation email (check your spam folder too!). The requested organization will make necessary inquiries and ask questions if needed. If they can accept the assignment, a confirmation email will be sent. If they must decline, you'll be notified by email and can select another provider or the application will go to the provider with a care mandate if it's a home care request.

  • Is an application binding?

    An application is generally binding unless you've clearly stated otherwise in your request. After the needs assessment, you enter into a separate contractual relationship with the provider, which will then be subject to charges.

  • Do I need an account for online application?

    No, you can submit an application without registration via the website. However, you'll have additional functions like adding and receiving comments once you create an account.

  • Do I need a medical prescription?

    This varies regionally. Check with the provider after application if it's unclear to you. Either the treating doctor or the family doctor issues it. It's mandatory for cost coverage by health insurance. You can also submit the form later using the supplementary function.

  • How can I check the receipt of my application?

    After submission, you'll see a confirmation page. You'll also receive an email notification as a receipt confirmation. Once the provider confirms the application, you'll be informed by email again. For questions in the meantime, you can contact the provider by phone.
